Youngs Premium ABV 5.8% 30 Pint Ale Kit - American Mocha Porter

Bought this kit and brewed it as per instructions. Bottled it and it's been conditioning for about 2 months. It is fabulous. Very Moorish and will be brewed again.

Really impressed with the service of Brew2Bottle at this 'challenging time' (Covid-19 lockdown), processing and delivering my order within days.

The kit itself is very good, a lot of the ones I've used before have been simple malt/yeast sachets etc from Youngs, Coopers etc.
This time all the ingredients are included including brewing and priming sugar, saving on additional purchases - which is great.

Aroma of the malts and end brew are fantastic with a big hit of cocoa/coffee taste and a lasting bitterness. The yeast itself included in the kit didn't seem that active (I re-hydrate before adding to the mix) however it did it's stuff adequately in the brewing vessel.

My beer came out at a significantly lower ABV than advertised (4.2%) leaving for the instructed amount of time and at a controlled temperature - but this is likely individual circumstance and I probably could have remedied by leaving longer until the specific gravity dropped further. My impatient wife was keen to drink the end result though so we'll 'cope' with the outcome!

These guys were able to fulfil my order within a few days despite the delays brought about by the Coronavirus and what was probably an influx of orders. 1st time of ordering this kit but I was very very happy when putting all the ingredients into the fermentation vessel and 'accidentally' tasting the malt -soooooo nice. It's brewing at the moment but the smells are superb so far. Quality kit that definitely gets my recommendation.
