Still Spirits Sight Glass Botanical Basket Set

Compatible with 2” tri-clamp distilling systems, including the Grainfather GF Distilling Lid Reflux Attachment Kit and GF Distilling Lid Alembic Attachment Kit. This high-quality sight glass botanical basket set is designed for use with 2” tri-clamp compatible distilling systems. This set can be used as a sight glass to monitor your distillation run or attach the mesh filters as per the instructions to convert the sight glass into a botanical basket. The sight glass will hold up to 150 g (5.2 oz) of botanicals and is suitable for fine botanicals. 

Instructions:

For use as a botanical basket:

1. Attach the sight glass to the lid of your distilling system using one of the mesh filters and the 2” tri-clamp.
2. Fill the sight glass with your desired amount of botanicals - up to a maximum of 150 g (5.2 oz).
3. Put the second mesh filter on the top of the sight glass.
4. Using a 2” tri-clamp connect the top of the sight glass to your condensing set up.

For use as a sight glass: Attach the sight glass to your distilling system (mesh filters are not required).

Cleaning: Clean with warm water and a suitable brewery cleaner. Using a pipe brush, clean away all residual oils on the glass. Disassembly should only be required if heavy soiling around the silicone components exists. Sanitation is not needed in this application.

Note: For use as a column extension with packing material coarse mesh is required to prevent flooding.

CAUTION: After distillation is complete, the sight glass will be very hot. Allow to cool before handling

Would this fit the Still Spirits T500 or Alembic Dome & Condenser?

The Sight Glass Botanical Basket Set is designed to accommodate those using 2" tri-clamp setups, which are common in converted brewing systems like the Grainfather G40 and G70, where the standard T500 Botanical Basket does not fit these setups.

Additionally, the Sight Glass Botanical Basket Set can fit the T500 or Alembic Dome & Condenser, but as the T500 and Alembic Condenser are threaded, they require some additional components for compatibility:

For the T500, you'll need a 2" tri-clamp to DN40 threaded adapter between the T500 boiler lid and the Sight Glass Botanical Basket Set. You'll also need another 2" tri-clamp to DN40 threaded adapter between the Sight Glass Botanical Basket Set and the T500, as well as an extra 2" tri-clamp. Once these parts are in place, the Sight Glass Botanical Basket Set will work with the T500.

For the Alembic Dome & Condenser, you'll need a 2" tri-clamp to DN40 threaded adapter between the Alembic Dome and the Sight Glass Botanical Basket Set. You'll also need another 2" tri-clamp to DN40 threaded adapter between the Sight Glass Botanical Basket Set and the Alembic Condenser, as well as an extra 2" tri-clamp. Once these parts are in place, the Sight Glass Botanical Basket Set will work with the Alembic Dome & Condenser.

Are you going to sell an adapter/bulk head attachment also?

We do not currently have a 2" tri-clamp to DN40 threaded adapter or a bulkhead attachment. This set is designed accommodate those using 2" tri-clamp setups, which are common in converted brewing systems like the Grainfather G40 and G70, the standard T500 Botanical Basket does not fit these setups. However, this may be something that can be sourced from elsewhere to complete the setup.
