Grainfather SF50 Stainless Steel Conical Fermenter

It's a long bottle opener, very nice and shiny, and for £1.75 can't go wrong.

Can be used to lift cap, or press cap down and remove. I suppose you can also use it to lift ring-pulls. Much better to use this to open bottles than your phone.

My Grainfather SF50 arrived safe and sound and earlier than B2B stated. Very impressed with the build quality and certainly more robust than I expected in good quality Stainless Steel. This is the first Grainfather product I have purchased. I cannot wait to start my first brew with the SF50. Certainly by far better than the plastic brewing buckets that I have used for many years.

Still in the box, and will be for a few weeks, but quality and weight feel good.

Well built, easy to put together. All taps and seals are good quality. Claims 113 degree angle of cone is “perfect” whereas on newer fermenters they claim 60 degrees is perfect?

Downside is that it weighs up to 58KG full. Manageable for two people to lift except the instructions categorically state handles aren’t strong enough to do that. Makes bottling from the fermenter pretty much impossible without a pump which is fine except it is just more expense. If it stood 10cm higher on its highest setting it would be possible to get a barrel under the tap and it would still sit nicely below the level of a standard worktop for filling.

All in all a very good product but not totally thought through. Good value on sale, GF seem to be moving toward totally unnecessary self heating models at £600. Grab one of these on special offer:
