The Grainfather S40 brewing system has a 46L (12 US Gal) capacity, allowing you to create 40L (11US Gal) of beer every time that you brew. Don’t let the price fool you, this product has a high grade stainless steel build and is packed full of features to make every brew easy.
The S40 is a fantastic entry level all-in-one. It’s not quite as feature heavy as some of the more expensive Grainfather units but offers great quality at an affordable price point and will get the job done.
The capacity is 46l, meaning you can brew up to 40l of wort, enough for two corny kegs – or lower volumes of higher abv beer. You can even have a full volume, no sparge brew day using the extra capacity. The construction is twin walled 304 grade Stainless Steel which gives added insulation in the body to improve ramp times and holding mash temps. The elements are powerful at 2.3kw to make light work of bigger batches and can be reduce to 1kw for a more steady control of mash temperatures.
The recirculation is powered by the built in pump and returns into the open mash tun through a wort distributor via the silicone outlet of the recirc arm. A really interesting feature is the newly designed mashing basket which includes a fixed base, and perforations on the side. This allows great recirculation without the need of complex overflow pipework, so is quicker to mash in, harder to go wrong and perfect for beginners as well as experienced brewers that want a quick, easy brew day.
As standard, the S40 comes with a Stainless Steel immersion chiller and is emptied from the side ball valve. It is recommended a hop spider or muslin bag is used to prevent blockages when emptying.

We offer FREE STANDARD DELIVERY for all orders over £70 to most regions of the UK.
For orders under 5Kg, we usually use Royal Mail.
For any order over 5Kg we use DPD who can handle heavier and bulkier packages.
Unfortunately, for certain regions within the UK there is an extra charge for delivery, as per the table below (Postcode Areas with Delivery Surcharge)
