Lactic acid is a by-product of fermentation and is always present in trace amounts in any wine, beer or cider. Lactic acid is the safest acid to use for treating the water when making beer and will increase the acidity (lower pH).
As a guideline, ¼ teaspoon added to the standard mash will lower the pH (increase the acidity) by around 0.1.

We offer FREE STANDARD DELIVERY for all orders over £70 to most regions of the UK.
For orders under 5Kg, we usually use Royal Mail.
For any order over 5Kg we use DPD who can handle heavier and bulkier packages.
Unfortunately, for certain regions within the UK there is an extra charge for delivery, as per the table below (Postcode Areas with Delivery Surcharge)
