This white food grade 25L plastic pressure barrel is an established way of serving homebrewed beer from the tap. Supplied with a 100mm (4 inch) diameter cap and valve designed for use with the S30 refillable CO2 cylinder. The barrel features two carrying handles and a tap making for a drip free pour.

When the beer or cider from the barrel is used it creates low pressure inside which removes the gas from your brew. After a while, the beer or cider starts to go flat and air can get sucked back in through the tap leading to spoilage. To prevent this you need to add pressurised gas to the barrel via a small cylinder. This adds top pressure to your brew allowing it to flow freely and preventing oxygenation. You screw it on the barrel and give a quick burst of gas. Then take it off.

Please note this barrel will not work with the Sparklets & Bulb Holder.

It's recommended to keep a few spare PD Cap 4'' O'rings handy to replace every 4-5 brews to ensure as tight a seal as possible, we would also advising adding silicone to the tap seal to provide an air tight seal & avoid leakages.

Please note S30 & Pin Valves can be purchased additionally for the cap.

No problems

Kegs seem to be in short supply at the moment - no idea why. Found one at a sensible price on Brew2Bottle, who I have not shopped with before. Whole thing went without a hitch and I received a good quality keg for a fair price within a couple of days of placing the order. Very happy first time customer who will likely return in future

I haven't poured from this yet as the brew is still conditioning. But my first impressions of this are very good indeed. Having used only the Wilko barrels before, this is a big step up. The Wilco one has moulded handles which are quite shallow on slippy, very awkward to carry 40 pints safely with these handle. This barrel however has excellent handles attached which move, they are so much safer and you can close your grip not just using your fingers. The shorter squat design of the barrel is more appealing too. Lastly it comes with the S30 valve and quality lid with the barrel. Looking forward to seeing it pour. Spend the extra cash on these not the cheaper ones, it's worth it.
