Rubber Plug For 5ltr Mini Keg

I'd say these bungs are essential for the reuse of 5L mini kegs.

These bungs are flexible enough for easy removal from the keg. They're two-part, having a plastic centre plug which is removable.

The bungs/valves supplied with the mini kegs are made of fairly brittle plastic. Their valve is good for allowing air in when you're pouring from the keg's inbuilt tap, but removing the supplied bung after use is nigh impossible without hurting the keg itself - it's a proper PITA! Scratches and dents on the keg, and the bung is FUBAR. (Maybe I'm just rubbish, but I couldn't get 1 in 10 of the supplied-with-keg bungs out that was reusable, at 10-30 minutes each time.)

When using this rubber bung with the keg's inbuilt tap, before filling the keg and "bunging it up" remove the centre plug from the bottom of the bung and reinsert it from the top, so you can remove it easily when you need to allow air in to create pouring flow. If you're using a Party Star tap, keep the plug inserted from the underneath to easily push the tap in - then you can have fun getting the plug out of the keg when the keg's empty! (I think I'll try tieing a bit of cotton around the bung next time. Stay tuned!)

These rubber plugs for 5lt mini kegs make reusing you kegs do much easier they are a must have if you keg your own beers.
