Excellent bottles & great quality delivered ontime & in full
I had tasted the commercial alcohol free St Peters product and enjoyed it very much. This instigated the brewing of this kit (sans reverse osmosis!) I brewed it at 25° C for 8 days and bottled it at 1.012. I like to give my beers weeks or even months maturation before consumption so the ‘juries still out’ on this one at the moment. Time will tell.
I’ve brewed Muntons Continental Pilsner for years. It used to be suppled with a general purpose beer yeast (top fermenting) and knowing that I used Fermentis Saflager S23 a true Pilsner yeast. The current brew came with a sachet of coyly labled ’lager yeast’. I asked Muntons for info about it but they never replied. In the interim Saflagers S23 has skyrocketed in price (approx £9:00 including postage for 11.5 g)! Like everyone else I dislike being ‘held to ransom’. So, the current brew is using ‘Hell’ another true German bottom fermenting pilsner yeast. I’m fermenting at about 15°C. And, if I remember, I’ll critique the finished brew after a few weeks maturation.
This is the second time I have used this kit, the first one was white and this one was a Merlot, very simple instruction, is made quickly and easily with a great end product
