Each Simply Beer kit makes 40 pints of your preferred style of ale or lager. You simply add the contents of the pouch to your fermentation vessel, add either 1k of Brewing Sugar or for improved results 1kg of beer enhancer, top up to 23 litres with water and sprinkle on the yeast - Simple!

A smooth dark malty ale with hints of stone fruit and raisins, soft bitterness with a lingering sweetness with hints of caramel.

This is an ingredients only kit - equipment is not supplied.

Simply MILD by Ritchies

Slightly stronger taste and ABV (4%) than expected. That was probably caused by dropping to 4 gallons total volume which did, however, produce a wonderful malty body. The colour was not the darkest mild even with extra dark spraymalt but that isn't an issue for me. Well matured in the bottle after 6 weeks. Natural carbonation with good head stayed to the last pint in the 2 gallon keg that usually requires gas injection about half way through. Excellent value and overall the best of the milds that I have brewed from budget ranges so far. 4.5 stars would be a fairer rating.

Good value mild kitQ

This is only our second attempt at home brewing, so we are not exactly experts! We wanted something light and mild - but with flavour! Used 500g of brewers sugar and 500g of a spray malt as it was suggested that this would deepen the flavour. What we've finished up with is very dark, and probably a bit stronger than a mild (if our hydrometer readings and calculations are correct, which they probably aren't!) It is however, very good value, and perfectly quaffable. Don't use as many carbonation drops as suggested - it comes out looking like Coca Cola!
